Spiritual Story
Salvation Experience: Having grown up in a local church (FBC Brinkley, AR) and having a love for God and experiencing great Bible training, I desired to please God. However, during a Sunday evening service, I recognized my need to respond to the Gospel by confessing my sins and acknowledging my need for a Savior at the age of 10. Two weeks later, I was baptized and continued to grow and mature in my faith through my school years.
Call to Ministry: At the age of 16, I felt the call of God on my life to surrender to ministry at my home church of FBC, Corning AR. Unsure of what that calling meant, God clarified it for me during my senior year of high school that I was to pursue student ministry. I preached my first sermon at the age of 16 and continued to serve in a pastoral role for many years to come. I was officially licensed into ministry during my senior year of high school and ordained later in ministry at the age of 32.
Spiritual Giftedness: My strongest spiritual gifts include Teaching/Creative Communication, Encouragement, and Leadership. With these gifts I find my strengths in teaching, public speaking, training and inspiring leaders. I love to write content that challenges and encourages, and I look for creative ways to communicate Truth that is understandable and applicable. I’ve grown in my organizational skills through the years and my leadership style would be considered mostly Transformational/Coaching as I enjoying working with teams, casting vision and motivating teams to act on that vision.
Personal Disciplines: Because of my focus on Discipleship during my college years, I have a deep passion for making disciples that make disciples. I believe that daily time with God is important, but pursue a deeper relationship with God that is more conversational through the day. I love God’s Word and spend time reading and meditating on it. I enjoy time away from distractions to focus on passages and how God can use me to communicate them to others. I love discipling people, helping them grow in Godliness and Christlikeness. But, I also strive to develop them to be disciple-makers themselves.
